Abyaneh Village _Kashan

Forty kilometers far from Natanz, a city near to Isfahan, you will enter a village which its red stair house will attract your attention. The red view of these houses is because of the red soil that is utilized in their construction. It is a beautiful village in which people are still living the way they used to live 2500 years ago. It seems as if this part of world has been in a deep sleep and has never felt the passage of time. They have their own way of living.

People are still working on farms, and have kept their accent untouched. You will be attracted to their clothing to the extent that you can’t resist trying them on or take them as souvenirs. Men wear long loose black pants with long coats, and women wear flowery loose shirts and crimp skirts. They wear colorful scarfs too. You will see women in cities who sell these crafts to you.

Monuments have survived in this village like temples, castles, shrines, beautiful cloisters. It seems as if the people in this village are the ancient people who have been survived to the present era. Peoples’ way of living seems as if they have revived history. The Niasar Fire Temple_Kashan

The Niasar Fire Temple (called Chahar Tagh) is a structure with a dome over a rock at the highest point of Niasar village, located 28 kilometers west of Kashan. The Fire Temple can be seen from quite a distance and has remained relatively intact since the time of Sassanid dynasty. It is accessible via a road going towards the stone mine goes past the fire temple. This stretch of road has become rugged and bumpy as a result of the transport of heavy duty mining equipment to the region. The main dome of the fire temple had previously collapsed. During the Shah’s era, the dome was reconstructed. However, the dome of the temple has been modeled on Islamic era domes while according to the famous French archaeologist Andre Godar, the main dome had been like an egg. There is an interesting point in the structure of the fire temple and that is some of the stones used in the building has an older and different cut than others. This stones had been quarried from a cave down the temple for use in the construction of the fire temple. This reveals the fact that the Niasar cave is older than the fire temple.Generally there would be a number of other premises around fire temples where Zoroastrian monks gathered together for worship. Although it is not known whether this building was used for this purpose, there are rows of stones laid together near the fire temple which are remnants of a building belonging to the Sassanid era. Since the fire over the Niasar penthouse could be seen from distance, the building might have had a symbolic role.

It was constructed in the 16th century during the Safavid era, however, the bathhouse was damaged in 1778 as a result of an earthquake and was renovated during the Qajar era. Abyaneh Village _Kashan

Abyaneh is a beautiful historic village at the foot of Karkass mountain  and at a distance of 28 km, 70 km to the southeast of Kashan and 40 km to Natanz. This is a village of living traditions, architectural styles (all in red clay), and probably the most interesting example of human adaptation to nature, wherein one can transcend the boundaries of time and space and experience the ancient civilization and culture of Iran. The village is compact, with narrow and sloped lanes, and houses located on the slope as if placed on a stairway. Here, the roofs of some houses are used to serve as the courtyard for other houses higher up on the slope. The language spoken by the literate people of Abyaneh is Parthian Pahlavi. They are deeply committed to honoring their traditions. No matter how well educated a person from Abyaneh might be, he or she puts on the traditional Abyaneh costume on coming back to the village from anywhere in Iran. The women's traditional costume consisting of a scarf with floral motifs and pleated pants, is particularly attractive. The Abyaneh woman is inseparably attached to her wedding gown inherited from her mother, and is expected to pass it on to her daughter. It bears such an intrinsic value of her that she wouldn't sell it at any price.

Abyaneh One of the most attractive to visit in iran is in the village of ABYANE , which was completely Zoroastrian right until the time of the intolerant Safavid Shah Isma'eel I in whose reign most of the villagers emigrated to India or to Yazd. Even today their costume , way of life and ancient dialect are still practically unchanged and for many anthropologists a  reason to travel to iran.

Maranjab Desert_Kashan

Maranjab Desert Located close to the ancient city of Kashan, Maranjab Desert is one of the most beautiful deserts in Iran whose golden sand dunes are truly mesmerizing. Deserts in Iran are fascinating not just because of their unforgettable scenery, but also because of their long, ancient, and enchanting history. There are two major reasons that make me recommend a tour to Maranjab Desert to all European tourists who have never been to a desert before. First, Maranjab Desert offers very convenient desert tours in terms of distance. Second, there is a very interesting historic sight in the middle of this desert.

Maranjab Desert's Caravanserai

Being a vast empire, ancient Persia was not easy to cross. And so, there were convenient accommodation facilities on most of the major roads to accommodate the weary travelers. These accommodation facilities were called caravanserais and Maranjab Caravanserai_ built in the 16th century, was one of the important ones. It was important because it was located on the ancient Silk Road through which the empire's commerce prospered. Having been renovated in recent years, Maranjab Desert's Caravanserai is still used as an accommodation facility, but at this moment that this article is being written- June 2016, it does not offer a very convenient stay and so we recommend you to stay in Kashan for the night.

The Boroujerdi House_Kashan

The Boroujerdi House is a historic house in Kashan, Iran located on Alavi Street. The house was built in the 19th century by architect Ostad Ali Maryam Kashani, at the order of a wealthy merchant, Haj Seyed Hassan Natanzi (who was nicknamed Boroujerdi because of the trade he did with the city of Boroujerd). The Boroujerdi family were seeking the hand in marriage of a girl who came from the affluent Tabatabaei family, for whom Ostad Ali had built The Tabatabaei House some years earlier. The condition set for the marriage was the construction of a house as beautiful as The Tabatabaei House. It is distinguished by a six sided wind tower and a large hall decorated with mirrors. The unique features of the House have resulted in a minimal amount of renovation and alteration of the original structure.
The house took eighteen years to build using 25 workers, painters, and architects, although some accounts place the number of craftsmen as high as 150. It is considered a true masterpiece of Persian traditional residential architecture. It consists of a rectangular beautiful courtyard, delightful plaster and stucco works of fruits and flowers and wall paintings by the royal painter Kamal-ol-Molk and three 40 meter tall wind towers which help cool the house to unusually cool temperatures. The House is famous for its unusual shaped wind towers which are made of stone, brick, sun baked bricks and a composition of clay, straw and mortar.

It has 3 entrances, and all the classic signatures of traditional Persian residential architecture. The entrance to the building is in the form of an octagonal vestibule with multilateral skylights in the ceiling. Near the entrance is a five-door chamber with intricate plasterwork. Following a narrow corridor, a vast rectangular courtyard opens up. The courtyard has a pool and is flanked by trees and flowerbeds. Also in the vicinity of the corridor is a reception area sandwiched in between two rooms. Due to the high amount of sunlight these two rooms receive, they were mostly utilized during the winter months.
