Makhmal kooh is one of the mountains in Lorestan province with more than two thousand nine hundred-meter height is located in the North East of Khorramabad. The high mountains on both sides leads to two strategically important Strait that throughout history has seen many events.

The southern part of the Makhmalkooh leads Boroujerd to Khorramabad road, when Reza Khan where on arrival to Lorestan was witnessed bloody wars and conflicts. The northern end of the Makhmalkooh is also arrive Khorramabad-Alashtar road and known to ambush tight and the name represents many things.
